Welcome
We welcome you to join our journey with Nash, the AI-centric terminal that puts productivity and speed first.
What is Nash?
Right now nash is a batteries included terminal that feels native to macOS, but is built on a cross-platform foundation. It is built with productivity and speed in mind.
Why Nash?
We believe that the terminal is an important tool for developers, and that it should be as fast and productive as possible. With the rise of agentic AI and code agents, more and more people are rediscovering the power of command prompt. We have been locked in to IDEs for too long, why? Because things in terminal were hard. Just setting up a good environment with essential tools could take hours just for the pretty basic functionality. And if you wanted to setup more tools - the complexity just kept growing and at some point when you felt that you got it, the tools started to conflict with each other. Shortcuts would collide, plugins would break each other, and you would spend more time managing your terminal than actually doing something productive.
What's Next?
We are still in relatively early days with nash but we are moving fast and we plan on having a first release candidate soon. It won't be perfect but it will be a solid foundation to build upon.
Long Term Vision
We want to not only make nash the go-to terminal for developers who want to be productive and fast, but we also want to make it smart and agentic.
In the meantime, feel free to have some fun with nash. Or read some of nash's quips.
